Multi-Occupational Trades AAS degrees
Apprentices: did you know?
A minimum of 6,000 clock hours of OJT and 450 hours of related classroom instruction – along with an additional 30 program credits* will meet the requirements of an Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree!
The Multi-Occupational Trades (MOT) AAS program recognizes the stringent requirements, on-the-job (OJT) training, and related classroom instruction needed for an apprentice to reach journey-level status.
MOT is open to apprentices enrolled in a state recognized or federal registered JATC program or journey-level workers who have completed an approved apprenticeship training program.
Verification of completion of an apprenticeship program by the state or federal agency is required before submission of the petition for graduation.
As an apprentice of Northwest Laborers Training, you are automatically enrolled as a student at Spokane Community College (SCC) – and are therefore also qualified to receive a student ID card.
The 30 credits required can be earned online while you are going through your apprenticeship.
*Keep in mind: while your apprenticeship training is paid for, the additional 30 hours are not. The additional 30 hours will be at your expense. Additionally, at this time, the degree is non-transferable to a four-year college program, but this may change in the future.
